Alopecia is a medical condition that refers to hair loss from the scalp or other parts of the body. It can occur for a variety of reasons, ranging from genetic factors to autoimmune disorders, and may manifest in different forms.
Some common forms and reasons are:
- Alopecia Areata - An autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks hair follicles. This results in patchy hair loss on the scalp, face, or body. Including your hair, facial hair such as eyebrows, moustaches, beards, body hair, etc.
- Alopecia Due to Medical Treatments such as chemotherapy, radiation, or medications. It diffuses or localized hair loss depending on the treatment.
If its caused during the medical treatment, then one may grow back the hair once the treatment is stopped. But if its some medical condition, then chances of regrowth is less.
Treatment and solutions:
Apart from the medical treatment, there are a lot of options available in cosmetics/ cosmetology to resolve this. It include both permanent solutions and a temporary makeup.
- Microblading: Its a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing procedure that involves implanting pigment into the skin of the eyebrows to make them look fuller or darker
- Eye-brow Makeup: Its a traditional way to cover the affected area with cosmetic products like eyebrow pencils, eyebrow powders, etc. Its a temporary solution and lasts till you remove the makeup.
- Eyebrow Tattoo Stickers: This is latest and most effective form of temporary eyebrow solution. These are waterproof stickers that usually lasts for a week. They come in predefined shapes and one doesn't need any expertise to use them. These are very in-expensive compared to other options.
