Brows disappear - f-a-d-i-n-g away - if we are not careful. They may just get more sparse or go grey. Whichever, your face will quiet simply lose definition - brows are the architecture of the face.
The Eyebrow Facelift:
There is no doubt that "clean and tidy" brows are essential to a glossy, gloomed look. If you have thick brows, then getting them professionally shaped - at least to start off with - can be very helpful, and makes for easier home maintenance. Even if your brows have become sparse, a professional can often improve the shape.
There is tweezing, waxing, threading, depilatories - a bunch of professional ways of shaping and tidying your brows. Whichever you choose, do talk through what's going to happen and the results you can expect with the practitioner first; it's a bit like haircut - you can sit like a rabbit in the headlights while your eyebrows are examined.
At home, plucking - with good slanted tweezers - is by far easiest way to tend brow shape.
Making up your brows:
- Brush on a mid-taupe/ grey-ish powder shadow to colour your brows. This is most flattering for almost all brows, at this stage, to define them. Too dark and you risk that Cruella look.
- Extend the brows outwards, not downwards. Of course you need to follow the natural line of your brow, but by now, most of them have lost the "ends" of our brows (just plain vanished into the ether we guess) and if we need to recreate them with make-up, make sure the line wings out towards your temples., rather than down towards your cheeks.
- Brush your brows to groom them. By now, the brows hairs are literally all over the place for many of them - it sometimes seems as if they're all making a bid of freedom in different directions. A brow brush - or make-up genius recommends an old mascara wand that's been thoroughly washed - does the job beautifully. Brush them, apply colour, brush gently again. It makes for much more natural effect.
- And brush them again if you use face powder. If you powder your face after you do your brows, you need to brush them one more time or they look "dusky and dirty". And clean brows are really important at this point in life.
- Or you could try a stencil. This creates a stronger brow look than many women are used to.
- You can also use "Eyebrow Tattoo stickers". This is the latest trend in market. If you are not good in using stencils or any of the eyebrow makeup tool such as pencil, brow powder, brushes, etc. then these tattoo stickers can be your go to tool. These are very easy to use, waterproof and long lasting upto a week. This really doesn't need any expertise to use them.
- Balance your brows with your eye make-up. More on your eyes means subtler brows: less eye make-up means you can play up your brows.
